{Beautiful Fabric Idea} Quilt Block Framed

I have an extreme weakness for beautiful scrapbook paper, digital scrapbook paper, & fabric.  I LOVE fabric.  I am not a quilter, I only admire from a far, but had the opportunity to make a quilt block this month.  I was so proud of myself that I kept staring at it and decided I should use it for a fall decoration.  Yes, it is true, I framed this quilt block and I LOVE it.  It is not perfect! :)  I will include the pattern that my friend provided me.  I hope you enjoy, I sure did.  Man, I see how you quilting girls get addicted to quilting.  It is FUN!  Good Luck.
The blank spot is A.

Press Fabric
Line up and cut.

Color Scheme, picked out at paint section in Home Depot.

Fabric was laid out before sewing started.

Quilting Hints for us Amateurs
  • Seams are 1/4 inch.
  • Strips need to be carefully cut and sewn together. Precision is important!
  • Make sure your seams are pressed and starched.
  • Not sure of a color scheme? Go to your local hardware store pick out your favorite colors or seasonal colors with paint chips and you have an instant color pallet. You will be AMAZED at the amount of fabric choices you have.

Don't forget to visit my My Memories Giveaway.  It is going until Thursday evening.  You can win $50.00 worth of software and digital scrapbooking paper from the My Memories Store.

Don't forget to join me for my TGIFree Friday, it is a fabulous item and the My Memories Giveaway winner will be announced!

This is beautiful! I have been wanting to try quilting, but I'm so scared. Maybe just doing one block to frame will be my way of starting.

By the way, a fantastic place to get color palette ideas is I have a bunch of them pinned on Pinterest for when I need color ideas.

Your quilt art is very pretty, Stacie. I love the fall colors of the quilt blocks against the crisp white mat and black frame.

Thanks for linking to Time Travel Thursday. I hope you'll join the fun each week. Be sure to stop by tonight, and see yourself featured. ;)
