Everyone needs great neighbor and friend gift ideas. You know those gifts that you receive that make you envious because you didn't think of it first. Well, here is your chance, make your friends envious. These fun puff balls are from our grandma's generation. Remember they didn't have a dishwasher, they had to use good old fashion elbow grease. They are better than any commercial scrubber and you can have your choice of color. How about hanging them as decoration, add a ribbon, sure! ...Or group together in a basket, why not? In other words they are a very versatile little puff ball. Add either dish soap or body soap and you have a SUPER DUPER GREAT NEIGHBORHOOD GIFT!
You will purchase mesh from the fabric store. Located by the Tulle.
Lay it flat and cut out 6" x 18" pieces.
You will have three separate pieces that you will line up and place on top of each other.
Grab a large needle and dental floss. The length of the dental floss will be arms length doubled.
Tie off the end with a knot.
Weave the needle and floss in and out of the project. I am sure there is a specific name for this but I don't know what it is..
Run the floss though the entire project and gather into a tight ball.
Wrap thread around project and tie it off. This is where you can add ribbon if desired.
Pull all layers apart. You are left with an adorable little puff.
Add dish soap or body wash and you have a fabulous friend or neighbor gift. Visit the dollar store and it is EXTREMELY cost effective.
Hang with ribbon from chandelier
and you have a perfect holiday puff.
Throw in a basket and you have a pocket full of puffies!
Hope this inspires you this holiday season.
Thanks to my mother in law for the demonstration! :)
