{TaCo TuesDay} Tortellini Soup

This recipe warms your soul.  It is one of our families FAVORITES!  It literally takes 5 minutes to throw together and another ten to cook.  It will impress all and no one will know that it is as simple as it is.  One of my dear friends from many years ago prepared it at my home and I have never STOPPED cooking it!  Delicious!  ...And if you happen to be out of a green onion or garlic or parmesan, just improvise like I did it still turns out declicious!  :)
Add all ingredients and bring to a boil, except the tortellini.
Add the pasta and bring to a boil and simmer for ten minutes.  Yup, your done.  Can you believe that?

Oh, the smell and the taste!

ENJOY!

{MeSSy HaiR MonDay} "Knot your typical crown headband"

Good Messy Hair Morning!  I hope that all of you had a wonderful holiday!  We had an amazing time visiting family and eating way to much delicious food.  Messy Hair Monday is the standard knot that I have shown you in past posts but wraps around her entire head.  This leaves many options open to pull the hair up into a messy bun, weave ribbon through it, or curl it into ringlets and let it hang down on top of the crown.  Either way your little princess will love this hair do.
Start by parting the hair all the way around the head.  It will be all of the bottom hair that we will be knotting.

Pull the rest of the hair up and out of the way.
Section off your first piece of hair off centered.  It does not matter which direction you work in.  Whatever, is comfortable for you.
Knot the hair, pin it off, and repeat the entire way around the head.  Remember if this is new, I have detailed instructions on knotting the hair in my previous posts.

Clip it off and either, leave the clip or put a pony.  Comb the middle hair into a messy bun and attach ribbon. Remember you can curl the middle hair as well.  I have done it both ways.

Enjoy!

{TaCo TuesDay} Fool Proof Hard Boiled Eggs

This post seems kind of like a no brainer, yet I have never heard of another person, hard boiling eggs with this fool proof method.  It creates a perfect hard boiled egg that is easy to peel, doesn't seem to smell, and hardly has any of the discoloration that you get from a normal hard boiled egg.
Here is the 911 on the perfect hard boiled egg!
Fill pan with water, add eggs, cover the pan, & bring to a boil.

Shut off the heat when the eggs begin to boil.  Leave the pan on the burner and set timer for ten minutes. Do not remove the lid during this process.
When timer goes off remove pan and fill with cool water.  Peel, EAT, & Enjoy!

Do you have any fool proof methods?  How about sharing?

{MeSSy HaiR MonDay} Knot your typical head band

Holy COW!  Messy Hair Monday is back!  My little Peanut has been sick every Monday, including today, for the past four weeks.  I FINALLY just roped her in and got it done!  This is a headband style hair do that has tons of possibilities including a ribbon running through it, which is what I wanted to do but I couldn't get her to hold still long enough.  I will save that for a post when she is feeling better!  :)  This is using the same knot technique that we have been using from the beginning so if you have questions review here and here.
You will section the front part of the hair forward and clip to hold it. You will section a middle portion, that is what you will be tying the knots in.  And, lastly section off the back and clip back.
Start the hair on one side and tie your first knot.  Clip and move forward.  Review the previous posts if you have any questions, or if I can answer them I would love to.  You will move from one side of the head to the other side.
Your final knot will be clipped off.  I then pull everything into a side pony and attach hair accessories.

...And you have your "Knot your typical head band" hair do.

If anyone out there has tried one of these knot styles, SHOW IT OFF!  I would love to see it!

It is a VERY thankful time of year, a time to reflect.  I have so many things that I am thankful for but the most important thing in my life is my family.  Our lives are a gift, so precious, appreciate everyday that you are given.    Here is a delightful reminder, to LOVE each day and appreciate the small insignificant things!  They usually become the most important!

Wandering Wednesday's {Creative Photo Uses}

I LOVE to decorate with photos.  ...And I am currently working on a project that will include the word HOPE.   I was originally going to mod podge with scrapbook paper and then wham, an idea hit me.  Why not mod podge photos of my family onto the words.  BRILLIANT!! Nothing spells HOPE more than my family and our "HOPES" for the future.
First things first, select the photo you are going to print.  I used the one above.  Cut out two sheets of tissue paper a little bit larger than your 8.5 x 11 computer paper.  I taped the tissue paper to the computer paper.  I used a light tan, not white.  I am going for the aged look.
This is the picture printed out on tissue paper.  You will only use the printed layer.  Untape carefully from the computer paper it is very fragile.
Next comes the piecing part of the process.  I am placing this picture on the letter "H".  Obviously I can't run it straight across.  I cut it and made it fit.
I started with the two largest pieces.  I put down a VERY thin layer of Mod Podge.  You need to place your piece of tissue paper exactly where you want it.  It is so thin and delicate it will tear if you try to adjust it.
I used the rest of the photo and filled in the empty areas. I wrapped the sides of the picture around the edge of the H and then cut the excess off.
This process is designed to look aged.  I took an ink pad and aged and distressed even more.

Then I slopped on the mod Podge.  I have to SAY I LOVE IT!

Mod Podge is still drying in the few bottom photos.  Don't worry it will dry clear!
Can't wait for the finished project!  I "HOPE" you enjoy!!

XOXO
